Schedule Physical Exam Appointment with Medical Arts Clinic

You signed up your child for summer camp or sports, and now you discover that they need a physical before they can participate. Most sports leagues require children to have physicals completed before being able to play. It's not just sports many summer camps also require children to complete physical exam to ensure the safety and health of children participating in activities. Help your little camper have a happy and safe summer by scheduling a Physical Exam appointment with one of our Primary Care Physicians.

Parents who delay scheduling these appointments until the last minute may have a hard time getting a convenient appointment time. If your child experienced a change in health status (illness, injury, medication change, etc.), regardless how minor, Physicians are required to medically clear the athlete for further sports participation. Even though Medical Arts Clinic does accept walk-ins, we highly encourage our patients to schedule an appointment. To prevent wait times, parents please make sure to have Physical Form completed and signed by Parent or Legal Guardian.

Here at our clinic, Dane Simons M.D., Juliane Zapalac P.A., and Kandace Steffek N.P. are all eager to start their new year by continuing to provide you with another year of quality healthcare. On another note, we would also like to remind everyone that it’s time for you to start being proactive about your healthcare by scheduling Annual Wellness Physicals with your provider. What is an Annual Wellness Physical? Why is it beneficial? An Annual Wellness Physical is a comprehensive physical exam tailored to your age, gender, and other specific risk factors. Risk factors may also be called health indicators. A few examples of health indicators consist of blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and other personal factors. Aside from that handful of statements, Annual Wellness Physicals allow you to be more in touch with your personal health by providing you with early detection for the following, diseases, mild illnesses that may become serious, and overall a better understanding of what you might need to do in order to live a healthy lifestyle. Preparation: When preparing for your Annual Wellness Physical, remember to provide your physician with your personal medical history, family medical history, an updated medication list, and updated shot record. The more your provider knows the better he, or she, is able to conclude your general health level. Finally, be sure to call ahead to schedule an appointment, and obtain the more specific details pertaining to your appointment/ Wellness Physical. Conclusion: Once the general physical is reviewed and completed by your provider, he, or she, may recommend other screenings, labs, and/ or immunizations based upon the data drawn from your visit. Typical diagnostic lab tests generally include a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), Lipid Panel, and a TSH.
