Mrs. Juliane Zapalac, PA is a licensed physician assistant at the Medical Arts Clinic. She has thoroughly enjoyed caring for residents of Matagorda County and surrounding areas since 2008. Her strong desire to return ‘home’ after completing her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) came to fruition soon after she graduated from Texas Tech University - Health Sciences Center. Fulfilling a commitment she felt was important early in life in providing health care to the community in which she was born and raised.
P.A. Zapalac began practice with her current supervising physician, Dr. Dane Simons, MD at the Medical Arts Clinic in November 2013. She sees patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics for yearly wellness exams, acute and chronic health conditions including, but not limited to: upper respiratory infections, ear and throat infections, gastrointestinal disease, joint pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disease, high cholesterol, etc. She is able to perform minor procedures such as ingrown nail removal, skin biopsies, joint injections, drainage of abscesses/boils, order lab and imaging tests such as ultrasounds, CT’s, and MRI’s, interpret such labs and imaging, and make referrals to specialists when necessary. The patients she sees often express that they appreciate the time she takes to communicate with them. Her attention to detail aids in providing thorough examinations and her personable nature help her to clearly explain procedures/prognosis’s in order to develop long-lasting, meaningful patient-provider relationships.
