Personal Profile:

When not in the operating room or seeing patients in his office, Dr. Sher enjoys leisure time fishing in Matagorda Bay and running with his dog Bosco. His greatest joy is his family; his wife, Karen, of 33 years and their three daughters Sarah, Lauren, and Rebecca. 
  • About Dr. Andrew Sher, M.D.

Dr. Sher is an accomplished general surgeon who is well respected in the Bay City community. He graduated with honors from Baylor College of medicine in 1979. 

Dr. Sher completed five years of training in general surgery in San Antonio, Texas. He became a surgeon in 1985, certified by the American Board of Surgery. 

In 1984, Dr. Sher moved to Bay City, Texas and has been in practice here since. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Sher loves what he does and enjoys making people well. On any given day, Dr. Sher performs laparoscopic surgery, including hernia repair, gallbladder removal, appendectomy and colon surgery. He also performs colonoscopies, endoscopies, and breast biopsies.
